HRA Announces Winner of Company-Wide Giveaway for New Car

VERO BEACH, FL, July 2021 – Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA) announced Gracie Kennedy, an associate at HarborChase of Southlake, Texas, as the winner of their company-wide giveaway for a new car!

As part of their Pledge of Love initiative to encourage all HarborChase Senior Living residents and associates to get the COVID-19 vaccination, they held a company-wide drawing. Multiple vaccine drives were held at HarborChase communities across the country, and every vaccinated community employee was entered for a chance to win over $70,000 in cash prizes and the Grand Prize – a 2021 Nissan Versa.

On July 8, 2021, the drawing was held at HarborChase of Vero Beach, Florida, and Gracie Kennedy, a housekeeper at HarborChase of Southlake, Texas, was chosen as the Grand Prize winner!

Initially, Gracie was concerned with what type of reaction she could have from the vaccine and how it might affect her in the future. But, she knew she made a commitment to serve the senior population and devote her heart to our residents, knowing they were at the greatest risk for COVID-19. Gracie understood that not being vaccinated compromised the health and safety of not only our residents but our families and team members.

The generous incentives that HRA offered to be proactive in vaccinating associates perked her interest, especially since the Grand Prize was a brand-new car and she was struggling with transportation for her and her daughter.

“I recall the day of our vaccine clinic when Gracie was nervously trying to decide whether she was going to get the vaccine,” said Veronica H. Cobb, Executive Director of HarborChase of Southlake. “She asked if she could take a few moments to go to her car and pray about it. I told her to take her time and let me know when she was ready.”

Gracie’s prayers were answered on several fronts. Not only did Gracie do wonderfully with the vaccine, but she won one of the four $500 drawings and is now the proud owner of a 2021 Nissan Versa.

HarborChase of Southlake hosted an event at their Southlake, Texas, community on Thursday, July 29, 2021, to celebrate Gracie. They invited members of the local community to join the Grand Prize winner as she received her brand-new Nissan Versa!
