Resident Rita Cottingham got the Pfizer vaccine because she said she wants to stay healthy.

“I think it’s important, I mean something like this, everybody has to get it,” Cottingham said. “I don’t know if I would ever put a rule or a law out about it, but I remember as a kid vaccinations worked.”

Nancy Alonso showed up to the vaccination distribution with her elderly mother who is a resident.

“I’m the one that goes out and does all of the errands so I always worried when I come back if I contracted something and then I would then give her the virus and I know she would not be able to withstand that,” Alonso said. “So that’s why I’m so glad we went to get it today.”

The second dose is scheduled to be administered February 12, 2021.
